This is a new service. It is proposed to make three trips daily, except Sundays, during the season of navigation, except on Tuesdays and Fridays, when only two trips will be ma-de. The service was in operation in 1923.

Mr. Chairman, I shall ask that the item stand until my deputy comes in.

Newcastle, Neguac and Escuminac, calling at intermediate points in the Miramichi river and bay, steam service between-additional amount required, $500.
Mr. LOW. This is an old service. The subsidy last year was $5,000. We felt, from the returns made by ithe company, tha-t there should be a reduction of $1,000, and $4,000 was -placed in the main estimates but representations were subsequently made to us that it would be impossible for the contractor to

continue at that figure. So we compromised and made the reduction $500.
