Can the minister tell the House why tne St. Lawrence River pilots are paid some $9,000 less than those of the Pacific coast and also whether he would consider inflationary granting the St. Lawrence River pilots salaries equivalent to those paid to Pacific coast pilots?

Mr. Speaker, I have a question for the Minister of National Health and Welfare.

In a letter to a person in charge of an amateur hockey league, he once stated that the federal government had no jurisdiction over the organization and administration of any sport in particular.

Does the fact that millionaires have invested their money in professional football explain his decision to interfere in football through Bill C-22?
