Mr. Nowlan:

No; it is not carried. I suggest that the committee would make more progress if we allowed this section to stand, because I want to get more information on it. I made some inquiries from people here in the city who are authorities in these matters, and they concurred in the points I have raised. This is a real problem and the section should not be hurried through.

Mr. George C. Nowlan (Digby-Annapolis-Kings):

In view of press reports relating to the danger to the fishing fleet at Victoria Beach because of the condition of the breakinquiries of the Ministry water, I should like to direct a question to the Minister of Public Works. I have already sent him notice of it. Have appropriations been provided for the construction or extension of the breakwater at Victoria Beach? If work has not yet commenced on this undertaking, when will it be proceeded with?
