Mr. Speaker, I wish to direct a question to the Acting Minister of Labour arising from the labour dispute in the Port of Montreal. Since the arbitration hearings have so far been boycotted by the union, what action does the government intend to take before the recess, if the boycott continues, in order to get the Port of Montreal back into operation?

Mb'. Speaker, may I direct a supplementary question to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Commerce. In light of reports that many shipping firms are pulling their business activities out of Montreal and going to other ports as a result of the dock strike, can the minister indicate what steps he intends to take to help the port of Montreal to regain its former status?
