Mr. Speaker, I have a question I should like to direct to the Minister of National Health and Welfare and-or the Minister of Consumer and Corporate Affairs. It has to do with today's report that consumers are facing a drug price increase in April, in line with new price lists from manufacturers. Will the ministers look into the situation, which underlines the need for new drug price legislation?

Mr. Speaker, in view of the fact that the Parke, Davis Company has raised its prices recently by as much as 30 per cent, is there any chance that the government will give some priority to this matter so we can spare the people of Canada any further profiteering by the drug companies of Canada?

I should like to ask the Minister of National Health and Welfare whether the government is investigating the startling results of scientific work being done on insecticides and some drugs with the object of bringing down legislation to protect the Canadian people from these newly found dangers?

Mr. Speaker, I wonder if the Acting Prime Minister can inform the house when the flag on the peace tower will be flown at half mast, in memory of one democratic process which died in this chamber last week.
