Mr. MORRISON:

The right hon. gentleman said he thought most of these valuators were honest men, and I agree with that. But there were occasional ones who were not true to their trust, and they stuck the soldiers unmercifully. These victims had a right to consideration, and my right hon. friend said that they should be treated on the same basis as those who had got a good deal from the government.

Mr. MORRISON:

The right hon. gentleman (Mr. Meighen) states that he is mot in favour of the depositors being reimbursed on a pro rata basis according to their loses; that their cases should be investigated and paid according to the need. A feiw days ago when we were discussing the problem of the revaluation of the assets of soldier settlers, my right hon. friend took the view that all the soldiers should be paid on a percentage basis.

Why does not the hon. gentleman refer to the general manager of the Home Bank instead of to Mr. Crerar all the time? The general manager knew the whole inside story.
