May 6, 1931

1. Did the government advance certain sums of money to the corporation of Ste. Genevieve-de-Batiscan, in the county of Champlain, Quebec, for certain works to be made by virtue of the Unemployment Relief Act, 1930?

2. If so, is the government aware that this parish compels every labourer or workingman, employed on said works, to pay to the municipal fund of said parish, the sum of one dollar from each pay that he receives, along with a written promise signed by each workingman in this respect?

3. If not, will the government inquire into this matter?

4. If the above mentioned facts are found to exist, will the necessary steps be taken, so that the money so retained by the municipality may be returned to said workingmen?
