Another point while

1 am on my feet. Anybody having a suspicion that any seed may he impure and not up to the requirements of this Act, should immediately send a sample to the Department of Agriculture. I think twelve months is altogether too long in order to ascertain whether action is going to be taken with regard to any seed. I think that anybody feeling aggrieved should be able to get an answer back .within three months.

Mr. WM. WRIGHT.

Might I ask the Minister of Agriculture how many places in Canada will he available to anybody wishing to have seed tested ? Will it all have to be sent hei'e to Ottawa from every part of Canada ? If so, I think it will be a very sei'ious hindrance to the grain trade. Everybody acquainted with the trade knows that all the seed business is done inside of a few weeks, and every dealer buys very carefully, for the reason that he knows that if thei'e is any left over, he will have to carry it for twelve months. Perhaps half the seed sold by dealers is sold on rush oi'ders by wire to headquarters, and has to be hurried out at once. What opportunity would there be for a dealer to send samples to a central place and have them sent back before retailing the seed to his customers ? How long would it probably take, say from Manitoba, or from the maritime provinces, or from British Columbia ?
