Mr. GOOD:

I would like to ask the Prime Minister a question which applies not only to this department, but possibly to some others. As prices are going down, we ought to expect some reduction in the items included under the heading "Contingencies"- clerical assistance, rent, insurance, income tax, fuel, light, stationery, etc. I notice here, and I have noticed in connection with the other estimates we have discussed this evening, that no reduction in these items is indicated. I feel a little uneasy lest with the falling prices we are really enlarging or increasing our expenditures.
