An official delegation from this side and an official delegation from that side of the house met the Prime Minister and laid before him their demand. So, Mr. Speaker, I simply wish to have the opinion of my fellow members. For myself, I am quite ready to take the responsibilty for what I have stated.

Mr. Chairman, I

support the position taken by the member for Peace River (Mr. Kennedy). The House of Commons stenographers are receiving a salary for only four or five months of each year, and when the session is over they have to try to find some other employment, which is not at all easy in July or August. I think they are perfectly justified in their demands for increased pay, and therefore I signed the petition.
