' I understood the minister to say that the officials of the penitentiary were allowed to purchase things that were made in the penitentiary, such as furniture. I see a large amount of revenue here derived from the tailor. Are the officials entitled to get anything in the shape of clothes, or anything from the shoemaker's shop?

I would ask the minister to bear in mind that there are a number of people in British Columbia and the west who would like to enter into this competition and some provision should be made to hold examinations in those provinces.
