Mr. Evans:

Mr. Speaker, I think that is a terribly unconventional procedure which is being asked for. It violates the straight agreement which was put when the House order was passed this morning, that the House will rise at four o'clock to give the Senate the opportunity to deal with the Bills and give Royal Assent to these Bills today as the House is adjourning today. The Opposition has known that all along. There has been plenty of time to deal with these Bills.

Mr. Evans:

Mr. Speaker, the Government House Leader has been magnanimous in this case. He said that at 4:15 the House will rise. He said that the House order can be amended to 4:15, and we will agree to that. Now we are getting this craziness from the House Leader of the Official Opposition. The Government has indicated that we will give unanimous consent to not see the clock until 4:15 in order to deal with this Bill. That is what unanimous consent is being asked for.
