Hon. J. P. Deschaleleis (Minister of Public Works):

Question No. 2,579 covers perhaps a dozen government departments as well as crown agencies. As far as the public work department is concerned, it is impossible to answer this question now because of the tremendous amount of research involved, and I am told by my officials, that unless this question is clarified, it would take 300 man days of work, in Ottawa only, to answer the question as drafted.

This being said, the Department of Public Works reports that since April 1963, there was no purchase of any kind from the companies controlled or managed by the Sefkind brothers, and they never even bid on any tender calls for furniture.
