Mr. DECHENE:

Yes, six big parishes on the island, 21 miles long, four miles from Quebec, and the upper part is a summer resort of great importance.

Mr. DECHENE:

It is only an island.

There are six big parishes, and the upper part, called Ste. Petronille, just facing Quebec, is

a big summer resort. During the winter all the traffic is done over the bridge towards the (Sault Montmorency. During the summer from Ste. Petronille the traffic goes to St. Joseph de Levis, Lauzon and Quebec. There is heavy traffic going there. Most of the traffic passes through Ste. Petronille every morning. I think there are over 40,000 people on the island.

Mr. DECHENE:

I am not the member for the riding. It is in the constituency of the hon. member for Quebec County, (Mr. Lavigueur) but it is pretty near my riding. There is a ferry boat plying between Quebec, Lauzon and Ste. Petronille every two hours during the summer season, and) along in the fall all the traffic of the island is done through Ste. Petronille. The company is La 'Cie Maritime de Levis. They have two boats plying there.
