Mr. CASGRAIN:

A post office has not yet been opened at Wrentham, and therefore the office has not been closed. Complaints were made against the person nominated as postmaster; but on inquiry no evidence was adduced to sustain the charge, and shortly afterwards he left the locality. Another nomination has been made, and the office will be opened immediately.

Two questions were

referred to the commission: first, as to the existence of pollution; second, as to the remedy. There is a report on the first question; in a very short time there will be a report on the second question, namely, the means by which the pollution may be either eradicated or remedied.
