Mr. Yves Forest (Parliamentary Secretary to President of the Privy Council):

I am informed by the Prime Minister's and Privy Council Offices and the Department of Public Works as follows: 1. Acquisition of furniture and furnishings amounted to $45,753. Cost of construction, $681,845.32.

2. The Conference Centre is for the use of federal-provincial conferences and meetings, other federal government meetings and interprovincial meetings.

3. The usual rules which apply to government buildings in Ottawa are also applicable to the Government Conference Centre. No public tours have been planned.
