I can tell my hon. friends opposite that I have a case in my county of a somewhat similar kind to that which we are now discussing. In the town in which I live the postmaster is Mr. J. B. Pearce, a Conservative who has been twenty years in the post office, and I can prove that he went out and canvassed against me, and canvassed strongly against me too.

I am surprised that my Conservative friends should talk as they do. I received campaign literature from my opponents, and it was franked by Mr. Carscallen, and stamped * with the compliments ' of John A. Six-smith, my opponent. That literature was received, not only by many of my friends, but even by myself.
