Before you put the amendment, Mr. Speaker, I should like to say a few words. As I understand it, the reason this matter is brought up today is that the official opposition is at so low an ebb that they will stoop to almost anything. I rise in particular to say a few words on behalf of the contractor, Mr. Lunam. I do not know Mr. Lunam. I have never heard him discussed in the house before. But I do say to the house and to the country that I have never heard such a vicious and cheap attack on a man who is not here to defend himself as that made by the leader of the C.C.F. party.

I should like to direct a question to the Minister of Labour, but since neither he nor his parliamentary assistant is in the house perhaps it can be taken as notice and answered tomorrow. My question is related to the serious tie-up of shipping in the port of Vancouver in the past seven days as a result of the strike of grain handlers. My question is, will the minister take whatever action may be necessary to enable the grain ships in Vancouver to be loaded at once?
