Mr. T. P. Healy (St. Ann):
Mr. Speaker, I listened with interest yesterday to the complete and eloquent plea made by the hon.
Tolls on Quebec bridges member for Chambly-Rouville (Mr. Pinard) regarding the toll payable on the Victoria bridge. This bridge is in my riding. I believe toll has been collected on it for the past seventy-five years, and it would be a great benefit to the people of Montreal if this toll were eliminated.
My purpose in rising is to support the resolution of the hon. member. I hope that the Minister of Transport (Mr. Chevrier) will make a special effort to give this important matter every consideration. I concur in all the remarks which have been made by hon. members from Montreal in support of this resolution.
