Mr. BENNETT:

I am very glad to answer that; I was counsel in that case. It merely was this, that as a matter of law as it then stood, this country was not. in a position to deprive its citizens of the right to appeal. That is all, but if we indicate that we desire that the power should be exercised by the motherland, whose statutes admit the appeal, there would be no hesitancy in the passing of an amending statute.
