Mr. E. LAPOINTE:

The old law used the same words with the following: " Whenever elected while holding the office." This would read as follows:
-shall disqualify (him from sitting or voting therein whenever elected while holding the office.
That is the law as it exists to-day, and those, words do not -appear in the present clause.
