Ms. Marion Dewar (Hamilton Mountain):

Mr. Speaker, I have the responsibility and privilege of presenting a petition from many citizens of my riding of Hamilton Mountain and residents of the City of Hamilton as well as Peterborough, Scarborough, Stoney Creek and Belleville. All of these petitioners feel very strongly that families throughout Canada need a high quality, available, affordable child care service. Whereas the proposed child care Bill is not in the best interests of young children, women or the families of Canada, they therefore call upon Parliament to withdraw the child care Bill forthwith.
