Progressive Conservative

Hon. Doug Lewis (Minister of State and Minister of State (Treasury Board)):

Mr. Speaker. I wish to advise the House that when we return on September 13, the Government will be calling two Bills for consideration, Bill C-147, the Human Rights Institute followed by Bill C-152, the Canadian Heritage Languages Institute Bill. We hope, although I do not believe it is firm at this point, that there will be all-stage consideration of both Bills on that day.
On Wednesday, September 14, we will begin report stage consideration of Bill C-136, the Broadcasting Act.
My friend asked about the Elections Act. One knows that we presently have before us Bill C-79. There have been discussions and an exchange of correspondence with respect to election expenses. I understand that the matter of my friend's correspondence is still under consideration.
