Progressive Conservative

Hon. Tom Hockin (Minister of State (Finance)):

Mr. Speaker, I do not know where the Hon. Member is coming from. His Party wanted a voluntary agreement for bank service charges a month or two months ago. Suddenly the Member and his Party want the Government to do it all. What we have accomplished is that together with legislation and a voluntary approach we have protected the consumers, and improved their relationship with the banks. We will do the same for the small business community as well.
