Bowman Brown Law

Mr. LAW:

There is a natural lobster
pond at West Pubnico, Yarmouth county. An official of the department has inspected that pond three times, and I understand he had made a favourable report. The pond can be got for a very reasonable price. There is an increase in this vote of $77,700. That pond, I imagine could be bought for $1,000. I see that last year the minister purchased a lot in Digby for $10,000, which has been assessed for the last three or four years for $300 to $350. If the money is as plentiful as that with the Marine and Fisheries Department it is only fair they should purchase this pond at West Pubnico which will be of benefit to the fisherman of that county as well as of Shelbourne. It is a natural pond and the water flows into it and out of it as the tide moves, and no fresh water goes into it.
