Eugene Whelan (Minister of Agriculture)
Liberal
Mr. Whelan:
In the press they called it a disaster area, but I have not seen any official declaration sent to us that it is a disaster area. That is all that I am saying. I have not seen it. If it is there as of yesterday, I have not seen it. Any declaration that is made by any province is considered. I do not know of any declaration of a disaster area that is too big for a province to look after, that the federal Government has refused.
