Miss Aideen Nicholson (Trinity):

Mr. Speaker, in the absence of the Minister of Regional Industrial Expansion my question is addressed to the Parliamentary Secretary. In view of the fact that imports of manufactured goods in Canada represented approximately $64 billion in 1983, can the Parliamentary Secretary say what level of import substitution, particularly in manufactured goods, he expects to be achieved by the domestic marketing program launched today, and how soon he expects the program to be reflected in new jobs?
