Mr. Gordon Towers (Red Deer):

Madam Speaker, the distributors of this gas have to pay the tax even prior to collecting it. This means that the distributors have to borrow the money in order to pay the tax to the Department of Revenue. The Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources said in committee last night that he is prepared to look at that and perhaps give the distributors at least 90 days in which to collect and pay the tax to the Department of Revenue rather than having to do it within 30 days. Would the Minister of Finance at least go that far?
