July 9, 1980 (32nd Parliament, 1st Session)

PC

Thomas Gordon Towers

Progressive Conservative

Mr. Gordon Towers (Red Deer):

Madam Speaker, 1 rise under the provisions of Standing Order 43. In view of the fact that-
The NDP walked out in a snit,
While most other members were unaware of it,
Until the socialists to the press did shout,
"The NDP had lost its clout";
Poor Stanley was left with tea and crumpet,
They continued to say "the rest could lump it".
Also on December last in dumping the veterans' bill,
Stanley sent all members home from the hill-
I move, seconded by the hon. member for Cambridge (Mr. Speyer):
That the new brand of NDP Be cautious in leaving Stanley at sea;
Instead of causing an internal schism.
They explore all facets of Stanley's prism.
July 9, 1980
With his saintly quiver and righteous bow.
Relegate him to the second row.
