James McPhail Gillies

Progressive Conservative

Mr. Gillies:

It is very difficult to come to a question with the answers we are receiving here today. Seeing that the minister is moving into a policy which, indeed, could take Canada away from the possibility of participating in the multinational, general oil pools for the allocation of oil around the world, I ask the minister what specific leverage he is bringing against the multinational oil companies right now to assure that under no circumstances will Canada not be able to acquire oil from the multinational oil pools. The only time we hear anything about energy from that party is when there is a crisis.
