Mr. FIELDING.

Yes, and no. Prior to making the arrangement under which the Ottawa Improvement Commission was established, the Dominion paid $15,000 into the city treasury for fire protection and water. When the commission was constituted, we took that $15,000 and turned it over to the commission and added $45,000, making a total of $60,000. We propose, under these resolutions, to pay $100,000 to the commission and $15,000 direct to the city treasury for fire protection and water.
