I will say this to the hon. member for Bellechasse: If that unhappy proposal is to become law, as I have just said, if the unfortunate policy of the government carries, and if that college is opened, I wish that the French tongue should be given the fair and generous treatment to which it is entitled.

Before the House goes into Committee of Supply to-morrow I propose to call attention to some matters relating to the flooding of lands in connection with the dam at Hastings and payments made to certain parties in the township of Asphodel.
