Mr. Stan Schumacher (Palliser):

Mr. Speaker, my question is for the Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources. It arises out of the recent public statement by the minister to the effect that he thought reconsideration should be given by the National Energy Board to the quantity of natural gas reserves in Canada, particularly in view of recent discoveries in the Arctic. Because of that statement and because of the application to the National Energy Board by Dome Petroleum for the export of ethane, has the government asked the board to reconsider its judgment with respect to Canadian natural gas reserves which it made last November?
