Mr. Speaker, the opinion of my department is that the imposition of tariff on the cars when they are returned to Canada would eliminate any gain to be made by buying in the United States. That is the general proposition. The company itself has made a number of observations on this subject to my department but, being very careful these days in these matters, I have asked that these observations be cleared before I use them in the House.
