Mr. Hubert Badanai (Parliamentary Secretary to Minister of Citizenship and Immigration):

If persons are found to be inadmissible at a Canadian port of entry, they are refused entry to Canada. If persons gain entry temporarily in the normal tourist stream and are subsequently detected and found to be prohibited, they are subject to deportation proceedings according to the law.
