1. (a) Coal lands :
General coal regulations came into force on the 15th day of June, 1907. Regulations for the leasing of coal mining lands in th* Rocky Mountains Park of Canada came into force on the 25th day of January, 1908.
Regulations governing the issue of permits to mine coal for domestic purposes
*came into force on the 20th day of March, 1897.
The present regulations for the issue of leases of school lands for coal mining purposes were authorized by order in council of December 20, 1907, and came into force on February 8, 1908.
<b) Timber lands :

The regulations were published and became effective on the following dates:
1st edition-June 21, 1907.
2nd edition-'October 1, 1907.
3rd edition-November 15, 1907.
4th edition-June 1, 1908.
<d) Grazing areas : '
'Saskatchewan and Alberta, October 14, 1905, railway belt, August 25, 1904; grazing regulations for the Yukon Territory came into force on the 2nd day of March, 1901.

The issue of grazing leases of school lands in Manitoba was authorized by order in council of July 13, 1895, and the regulations came into force on August 17, 1895. The regulations for grazing leases of school lands in the Northwest Territories were authorized by order in council of March 16, 1894, and came into force on April 28, 1894.
The regulations for the issue of grazing permits on school lands for Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta were authorized by order in council of February 22, 1908, and came into force on March 28, 1908.
