Liberal

Hon. Harry W. Hays (Minister of Agriculture):

It is not the intention of the Department of Agriculture to close out the operations of the experimental farm at Nappan, N.S.
The operations of the Nappan experimental farm will not be curtailed with respect to

work of practical importance to the area which it serves directly. As a general policy it proposed to concentrate basic research at fewer stations. Over a period of time this will involve the transfer of certain basic research studies from Nappan in the interests of providing a better and more efficient research service to the entire Atlantic region.
