Mr. G. H. Aiken (Parry Sound-Muskoka):

Mr. Speaker, my question is to the Prime Minister in the absence of the Minister of Finance. It arises from a dominion bureau of statistics release yesterday which indicates that in the past year Canadians have gone $500 million further into debt to finance companies and lending institutions, representing a 12 per cent increase. My question is, now that we have nearly reached the credit limits, where is the Canadian taxpayer going to get the money with which to pay the increased taxes forecast last night by the Minister of Finance?
