Mr. OWEN.

The Hon. William Paterson knew, when he stated upon the hustings in the city of Brantford, that his supplies had been voted by this House before he left Ottawa on Monday evening for Brantford. Therefore it was very unjust and unfair for him to endeavour to mislead the people in his own city by making them believe that

we would not vote him supply required to pay the men in his department.
