1. Why is coke, which is a manufactured article, imported free, while coal from which coke is manufactured, and which is a raw material, is heavily taxed?
2. Does the government intend to refund to Canadian manufacturers of coke the duty on the coal from which it is made?
3. Why are makers of binder twine allowed to import coal free, while the same privilege is refused to producers of gas.
4. Why is coal tar, which is a manufactured article, imported free, while coal which is used by the Canadian manufacturer of coal tar, is subject to a heavy duty?
