Progressive Conservative

Hon. Gordon Churchill (Minister of Trade and Commerce):

Mr. Speaker, I would like to thank the hon. member for sending me notice of his question but I wish he had identified the paper from which the clipping comes. There is no truth at all in this rumour. Canadian wheat is generally sold for cash. A few countries are getting wheat from Canada on a short-term credit basis, insured under the Export Credits Insurance Act, and the announcement with regard to our other plan was made to the house a few days ago for the sale of wheat on a longterm credit basis to countries within the Colombo plan. There is no truth at all in the report which the hon. member has sent me.
