Howard Charles Green (Minister of Defence Production; Minister of Public Works; Leader of the Government in the House of Commons; Progressive Conservative Party House Leader)
Progressive Conservative
Hon. Howard C. Green (Minister of Public Works):
Mr. Speaker, wherever there is a request for a survey of potential developments in a port, the Department of Transport and the Department of Public Works co-operate to have a survey made by their economic branches. Requests of this type have come from the lakehead cities, from Sault Ste. Marie and Windsor, and investigations have been made by the officials of the two departments. We also are looking into the situation at Father Point on the lower St. Lawrence, but I do not believe there has been any request from other centres on the St. Lawrence for an investigation.
