Mr. DANIEL.

My attention was called to the statement in the Auditor General's Report and I have looked it over. The balance to the debit of the account amounts to $10.63 which has been placed to the credit of the department. But I notice a rather peculiar thing with regard to it, and that is that this is not a statement for one year or one season, but includes the summer season of 1902, the winter season of 1902-3, the summer season of 1903, the winter season of 1903-4 and the summer season of 1904. The revenue for the winter season of 1903-4 and the summer season of 1904 was $23,610 and the expenditure $20,420. And that would make a difference of $3,190 for one year.
