April 8, 1957 (22nd Parliament, 5th Session)

PC

George Randolph Pearkes

Progressive Conservative

Mr. Pearkes:

Is the parliamentary assistant suggesting that when there is a revolution all killing ceases? All joking aside, the operations have been carried out both by the Russians and by the Japanese since 1917, and we carried on and have not been getting any moneys from those countries during that time. What steps has Canada taken to ensure that this country receives her rightful portion of these moneys? Has Canada ever made any protest to Russia or to Japan to the effect that we were not getting the portion of the kill to which by treaty we are entitled?
