Mr. HENDERSON.

I am sorry that I have not the report of the Minister of Justice in my hand, but I think there are hon. members who will bear me out in the statement that ten cents a day is a fairly good allowance for maintaining prisoners in the county jails in Ontario, at least. There are counties in that province where prisoners are well fed at even less than ten cents a day, in some instances for eight cents a day.
