Conservative (1867-1942)

Hon. GEO. E. FOSTER (North Toronto).

Mr. Speaker, before going into supply, I want to say just a word in continuation of the subject which we had up yesterday concerning land scrip. Since that I have been looking into the papers somewhat, and have received other communications and information, and if I had to go over the matter again to-day that I went over yesterday, I am certain that my language would not be any milder than that which I used yesterday ; and in my view of the case, it seems to be much more grave than it did under my pievious information. I find I will require some more information, and particularly what I want to ask the minister is this : Have the certificates for scrip of these halfbreeds, which we have had under discussion, been already issued, or are they now in process of issuing, and is land being located and patents being granted, or are they under
process, as a result of Mr. Cote's investigation ?
