These offices are a great convenience. Centralizing everything at Ottawa is not always popular with the mass of people. These are in a sense government banks, and they supply the currency to the other banks. It is a great convenience to the banks to obtain this currency at the different offices throughout the Dominion and not have to send to Ottawa. The system was well thought by my predecessors, and I see no reason to change it.
