Mr. Speaker, I may say, in reply to my hon. friend's question, that the fines which were imposed upon the accused corporations in this case were the maximum fines which were possible under the old Criminal Code section in respect of these offences which were committed while the old section was in effect; and it would not be possible to achieve the result that my hon. friend suggests.
