Right Hon. J. G. Gardiner (Minister of Agriculture):

Mr. Speaker, on February 28 the hon. member for Yorkton directed a question to me as to what action has been taken to prevent a recurrence of the floods on the Assiniboine river in the Kamsack area in Saskatchewan. In reply I may say that no action has been taken by the Department of Agriculture to prevent the recurrence of floods along the Assiniboine river at Kamsack in Saskatchewan as this is considered to be the responsibility of the provincial government and so far as the Department of Agriculture is concerned no application for assistance in this regard has been made by the provincial authorities.
