Imported coal has been permitted to be warehoused at Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The warehouses are established on the application of an importer desirous of warehousing coal, as provided in General Order in Council of December 22, 1881.
No application for a warehouse of this class at Sault Ste. Marie is now pending before the Customs Department.
The privilege of warehousing coal at Sault Ste. 'Marie has been granted to New Ontario Dock Company in May, 1903, and to the Lake Superior Corporation in July, 1904, on the ground that the applicants were importers of coal desirous of warehousing same.
